About the event

Are you interested in raising goats, or want to learn how to reduce the costs of goat production? Join us on this pasture walk to learn from the hosts and other experienced goat producers in attendance!

We'll be discussing silvopasture, meat processing plants, rotational grazing, parasite management, and much more! And highly encourage your questions!

Snacks and beverages will be provided. Food stand sales will also be available.

About the hosts:

Cherrie has managed pastured small ruminants since 2001, her B.S. was wildlife ecology, she studied goats for brush control for her M.S., and her Ph.D. is studying parasite management.

Allen is a soil scientist and organic fertility chief agronomist. Their goats will be kidding on pasture during this event.

Sponsored by:

Wisconsin Meat Goat Association, Junior Wisconsin Meat Goat Association, Michael Fields Ag Institute, Uplands Watershed Group, Compeer Financial, The Savanna Institute, and River Alliance of Wisconsin.

Silent Auction:

Blue Stone Goats, Donna Gabbei and Tom McMillan have donated a nice 8 ft V feeder, made by John’s Fabricating, to the goat pasture walk on May 28th for the silent auction. A $240 value, the well made feeder will last for years and take any and all goat punishment. Your monetary donation or donation to the silent auction will help support the new Wisconsin Meat Goat Association and ensure more of these pasture walks and educational events. If you can’t be at the pasture walk but would like to bid on this nice feeder, let me know and I will help you with bidding but you will have to arrange pick up.
