About the event
Gary Zimmer and his family farms around 1,500 acres of hay, small grains, and corn on several parcels throughout the Otter Creek watershed. Gary will show their new practice of putting sulfur and boron into manure and composting it, as well as planting the farm heavily into the small grain crop of rye.  They will also cover the research they’re doing on the farm regarding carbon-sequestration from rye and discuss markets for small grains.
Gary Zimmer was raised on a Wisconsin dairy, and is well known farmer, author, speaker, and consultant on biological farming. Gary is a member of the Uplands Watershed Group, founded Midwestern BioAg, and runs Otter Creek Organic Farm with his family.
