About the Farm:

 

Dave Mellum has a 75-head beef cattle and cash grain farm in the Otter Creek watershed. He farms 465 acres, with 300 acres in crops, 135 acres in pasture, and 30 acres in woods.

Dave is excited to be a member of this group. Even before he joined, he dug the soil pit at Joe Stapleton’s farm for a 2021 Uplands field day, and he's performed a number of other conservation tasks for farmers in the area, ranging from forest management to installation of grassed waterways. With his neighbor Linda Kane, Dave co-hosted a field day in July 2022 on protecting vulnerable streambanks.
